Safety Manager

Process Group is seeking an experienced Safety Manager on a Project Basis who can evaluate the safety protocols followed on the job site, organize safety training for employees and report problems to management.

Project responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate, assess and develop safety procedures including but not limited to Daily JSA's, Lift Plans, Confined Space and Working at Height Plans
  • Review SDS of all chemical products coming on site to ensure Government requirements under WHMIS
  • Analyze accident reports and evaluate injury case studies based on available facts
  • Prepare and conduct safety training/orientation sessions for newly Hall Hired employees
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (including OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Maintain filing of all safety related documentation
  • Lead injury and incident inquiries and evaluation
  • Proven success for being the last stop for all safety related aspects on a construction site

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have 6+ years of experience in the mechanical construction industry
  • Have knowledge of OHSA and Mining standards regarding construction
  • Have their CRSP Certification
  • Have working knowledge of computer software (WORD, EXCEL etc)
  • Have completed a Working at Heights (WAH) program
  • Have above average knowledge of heavy rigging practices, crane work, and ability to develop "Comprehensive Rigging Plans" and calculating load limits and stressors of force.

This position requires a bachelor's degree, preferably in environmental health and safety.
